The General Secretary Finance and Administration will oversee the administrative and Finance component of Basse Development Initiative (BDI).
As the general umbrella for Account Audits, Information, Communication & Technology (ICT), Fundraising, Legal Service and Education & Capacity development, the directory will oversee the strategic development and funding of the organization. The Secretary will help the Executive in maintaining records, auditing and facilitating communication between Executive, directories and the general body.
The accounts and Audits department will be responsible in overseeing BDI accounts. The department has the mandate to oversee account activities and generate quarterly audit reports of each Secretary. Audits can also be requested by the Executive body at any time. The department has the mandate to request account information from any Secretary for auditing purposes at any given time and the Director must comply at a reasonable time with no more than fourteen working day delay.
As a virtual organization, communication is key to BDI’s success. The ICT department will facilitate communication ease for the organization. The department will overlook all communication avenues of the organization including social media accounts.
Fundraising is a key component to finance BDI activities. The fundraising department will be responsible in overseeing fundraising activities for the organization. They will assist all the Secretaries in their fundraising activities. They will assist secretaries with collateral and other logistics as needed. Only the executive has the mandate to engage them on special fundraising needs.
This very important department is tasked with the duty of keeping the organization in compliance with organization, national and international laws. They will oversee the constitution and all constitutional amendments. They will oversee all disputes within the organization and will also be responsible in the filing of the group’s legal documents.
